I travel quite a bit for work and over the years I have stayed in some nice hotels and some crappy hotels. Here is a list of Hotels That Don’t Suck and a few reasons why I like feel the way I do. I should probably make a list of Hotels That Suck but for now I’ll stick with the ones I like instead.
Proximity to an airport is a big deal for me. On site airport hotels tend to be more expensive but the time savings from not having to return a car and get to and from the airport along with the actual cost of a rental car, can more than offset having to pay $300 a night for a hotel room.

[...] We stayed at the Residence Inn on Light Street which is about 5 blocks from the Inner Harbor. I love Residence Inns – they work really well for my family of six. Breakfast is nice, the extra room is really nice to have, and having a refrigerator to keep food and drinks help us from having to eat out for every meal. The Light Street Residence Inn is one of the nicer ones I have stayed at – I highly recommend it. I have added it to my list of list of Hotels that Don’t Suck. [...]
